I think it is so importan...Some great points here. I think it is so important to develop a relationship with the students. Once they recognize that you are genuinely interested and wanting to help them, they will do their best (most of the time). <br />Also, I like that you mention having fun. Some administrators, and even some parents, think that if things aren't deadly (stress on deadly) serious, then learning isn't happening. <br />The opposite is true! We all remember the times we had fun and something interesting happened. <br />The students are not "the enemy" although they sometimes try to behave that way. The rapport is not always mutual at first, so you have to be willing to take that leap and keep working on the relationship. Sometimes quickly - sometimes not so quickly, they will see that you aren't the enemy either.
